Designed Corinne (Spy!) and Earl Slick (Charlie).
Me and Slick had a lot of a fun designing apparel together, and this is one of my translations of his designs. He makes art using stencils and bright acrylics, so I would often take my camera and shoot photos of his house, a piece of furniture, a guitar body, a leather jacket- anything he had “done up” with his incredible color schemes. This shirt design came from one of his favorite stencils, his Route 66 design. The tire tracks are homage to David Bowie, who wore a very unique hand-screened t-shirt in 1997 during a photo shoot featuring silkscreened black tire tracks over an orange cotton tee. I always loved DB’s 90’s apparel, and it inspired me to do what I do today.
Printed on an older (pre-Gildan) American Apparel Fine Jersey Men’s Tee Style #2001. Hand-dyed, hand-screened. The neckline and arm hems are distressed and ripped for an edgy effect. Soft to the touch. Pre-washed multiple times (therefore pre-shrunk). Fitted style.
All of our apparel comes packaged with a pair of hand-stamped 3D glasses and a one of a kind hand-painted 3D printed ornament.
